About SHOAW Gambia
SHOAW Gambia is an initiative that seeks to address the increasing harassment and online abuses of Women and Girls in The Gambia by targeting and identifying the root causes that often triggers harassment/abuse.
This initiative seeks to generally change how Gambian Communities perceive women in society as they are still the most vulnerable and marginalised in most part of the world.
Communities that should be shelter and console for victims is rather the opposite and victims are highly encouraged to speak out and not feel stigmatised or defend the so-called “family-honour” as we at SHOAW believe that women play a vital role in society, therefore their rights most be respected and also protected.
